Grand Finale 13U Orange Preview

Can The "Killer Bees" Repeat As Champs?

The 13U Orange Division is loaded with 8 teams capable of winning it all. Here’s a look at the teams that will be heading for the crown.

Grand Finale 13U Orange Preview

F.A.C.E.S.: The defending champs are back and will be flying up and down the floor. Ray Montilous and Christian Ford are extremely tough inside. They also have good guard play especially with the addition of Jagan Mosley.

DC Assault: Assault is looking for their first “Spotlight” crown. They made it to the finals of the MDC twice so they are thirsty to win the Grand Finale. The combined squad now features the guard quartet of Anthony Mr. Cowan, Alani “Showtime” Moore, Reggie Gardner and Jamar “Boogie” Watson.

NYC Gauchos: The Gauchos will be focused on making a big statement. Paul Suber now has NyRhique Smith running the show with a host of others also chipping in. Keep a close of rising wing Mustapha Heron. He should make an immediate impact.

New Heights: Many are sleeping on this group but when you have Rakym “Bed Stuy Bully” Felder you always have a chance to win. Jared Rivers and Terrell Turner also are capable of causing some raucous.

Team Scan: TS is hungry for some respect. They knocked off a couple of ranked squads during preseason tourneys but do this is a different ball game. Unique Mclean is making a name for himself in the Big Apple and Cameron Winston always gives 100%. This should be interesting.

NY Panthers: Coach Kat has returned to the younger guys. Their names don’t jump out at you just yet but with him at the helm we will be hearing a lot from these boys. They should be ready to rumble.

Fairfax Stars: Fairfax will making their “Spotlight” debut but I’m not a stranger to this group. Chauncey Pittman and Kobe Davis form a respectable backcourt, while Kwame Camon should hold things down in the paint.

MABC: Last but not least MABC has one of the most dominant players around in “King” Ceasar Adim and one of the top wings in Jamal Allen. They made it to the final four of the MDC but would love to be holding the banner when the smoke clears Sunday night. By the way we think “King” Ceasar is more fitting.
