King Of The Capital Showdown 8th Grade Preview (T Town vs Ball Hawks)

The Basketball Spotlight Inaugural King Of The Capital Showdown will take place Saturday at Incarnation Church. This event will feature five games involving the Trenton area AAU teams. Here’s a preview of the 8th Grade Division Showdown.

T TOWN BALLERS VS BALL HAWKS

T Town Ballers: TTB are coming into the showdown after a very successful season including winning tournament championships. They have a loaded roster including Quinyon McMillan, Erik Bush and Naire Preston. They are also bringing a ton of experience into this event.
Ball Hawks: I haven’t seen BH as a team but I am familiar with a few of their players. Their roster includes high scoring wing Davontay Hutson, Sherief Guinyard, Shubham Bhayana and Robert Rossi. It will be interesting to see how they respond to their first Spotlight event.

Prediction: This one should be a dandy with both teams battling hard. I think TTB has been battled tested more throughout the season and this will play into their favor. Therefore I have TTB by 8.

Moody Park Middle School AAU Division Top 10 Players Performance Rankings!

Jeff White Jr.

Basketball Spotlight had the privilege to watch many games at the Moody Park Summer League and we feel that it’s the #1 summer league in the state in terms of their elementary and middle school divisions. Here’s a look at the Top 10 AAU Middle School players we seen this summer. Please remember this ranking is based on their performances when we saw them and is only our opinion.

Moody Park Middle School AAU Division Top 10 Players

King Of The Capital Showdown 7th Grade Preview (T Town Ballers vs FCP Elite)

The Basketball Spotlight Inaugural King Of The Capital Showdown will take place Saturday at Incarnation Church. This event will feature five games involving the Trenton area AAU teams. Here’s a preview of the 7th Grade Division Showdown.

T TOWN BALLERS VS FCP ELITE

T Town Ballers: TTB has a very talented rising 8th Grade bunch. Their high scoring backcourt features point Kabrian Goss and southpaw Joell Idoro. Their front court also deserves some recognition with Kamar Archie and Jeff White. Goss is capable of running the show, Idoro gets buckets, Archie does the dirty work and White was our pick as MVP of the Moody Park Summer League.
FCP Elite: FCP Elite brings a balanced attack to the table. They love shooting the trey ball in their drive and kick offense. TJ Keese runs the show and Jordan Fusik will make you pay from deep. Joshua Pintella and Domenic Raymond handles inside duties. Pintella loves to pass the rock and Raymond has a soft touch near the cup and a short jump shot. The big question is will former FCP Elite member Mike “Deuce” Jones suit up?

Prediction: This might be the game of the day as these two squads match up very well. I think this might come down to of FCP Elite can handle Jeff White inside. If Goss distributes and Whites gets going it could be a long day. FCP Elite chances rest in their outside shooting. If Deuce doesn’t suit up which is likely I have TTB by 6.

King Of The Capital Showdown 6th Grade Preview (T Town Ballers vs FCP Elite)

The Basketball Spotlight Inaugural King Of The Capital Showdown will take place Saturday at Incarnation Church. This event will feature five games involving the Trenton area AAU teams. Here’s a preview of the 6th Grade Division Showdown.

T TOWN BALLERS VS FCP ELITE

T TOWN BALLERS: TTB has a good wing forward in Hyshon Cannon while also possessing a back court of Isaiah Gore and Noah Johnson. The have a scrappy style and will be looking to take home the crown. You can’t ever count this team out. They will leave everything on the floor.
FCP ELITE: The trio is Brandon Russell, Deuce Maxey and William Felder makes FCP Elite a tough team to beat. The have a good draw and kick game while also knowing how to move without the ball. I got a good look at this squad during the MDC. They are good to go!

Prediction: TTB are looking to prove they have the best 6th Grade program in town. But this FCP Elite group is well organized and knows how to compete on a high level. This should be a good one but at the end of the day I have FCP Elite by 7.

King Of The Capital Showdown 5th Grade Preview (MPO Elite vs T Town Ballers)

The Basketball Spotlight Inaugural King Of The Capital Showdown will take place Saturday at Incarnation Church. This event will feature five games involving the Trenton area AAU teams. Here’s a preview of the 5th Grade Division Showdown.

MPO ELITE VS T TOWN BALLERS

MPO ELITE: The MPO Elite squad has shown good success this season on the AAU circuit and in league play. Now they will be trying to close out the season with the title of “The Kings”. They have a nice roster including guards Marvin McNeil, Javion Ceasar Jones and Aiyvaye Ingram. Inside Marjon Ingram and Hyshyon Cannon look to get the job done. They should be well prepared for this war.
T Town Ballers: TTB counters with a mean trio of Isaiah Gore, Amir Barber and Noah Johnson. Gore known as “The Machine” is the creator, while Barber sets the tempo and Johnson brings huge confidence while just finishing playing in the Middle School division of the serious Moody Park Summer League.

Prediction: This is a close one as both teams are hungry for a victory. TTB wants to finish their tough AAU season off with bragging rights while MPO Elite will be looking for revenge after being upset in the Moody Park Championship by some of the members of TTB. In the end I think Gore take over the game ability combined with Johnson’s toughness with give TTB the edge. TTB By 3

King Of The Capital Showdown 4th Grade Preview (MPO Elite Vs Gymwork Training)

The Basketball Spotlight Inaugural King Of The Capital Showdown will take place Saturday at Incarnation Church. This event will feature five games involving the Trenton area AAU teams. Here’s a preview of the 4th Grade Division Showdown.

MPO ELITE VS GYMWORK TRAINING

MPO ELITE: These guys come into this event with a wealth of experience. They just finished 7th in the country at the AAU D2 Nationals. They feature some really good baby ballers including Santana Hodge, Sean Turner and Zaquan Cullers. They love to press and turn team’s over. In the half court set Turner is capable of breaking down the defense and kicking it to the Hodge to for a shot.
GYMWORK TRAINING: The new guys on the block have been playing well in local leagues. They are represented in the back court by DJ Chew and Jamir Conover. They also have a budding player in forward Mark Johnson. GT tries to bring a discipline approach and teamwork to will their victories. I also heard to have added a stud from across the water in PA.

Prediction: These teams have matched up in the past with MPO Elite winning those battles. Now Gymwork Training will be trying to edge one in the win column. I think it will be a tough matchup and Gymwork’s new addition should be a good help but I still have MPO Elite being victorious. MPO BY 5!
