Hometown: Long Branch, NJ

Position: Shooting Guard

Diary Of A Baller: Dylan Seay (Brick, NJ) Entry #4

Dylan Seay

Whats up Spotlight FAMILY!

Another week of basketball done. On Thursday, my school team ended the Fall JV Hoop Group League with a win over St Rose HS. Then, Friday night I went to the I'm Possible workout at Sportika. Micah Lancaster and the other trainers showed me some new techniques and footwork.

This week I am doing what every other middle school basketball player is doing and getting ready for MADEHOOPS at Spooky Nook this weekend. I am looking forward to playing against the best competition on the East Coast! As soon as this weekend is over, my school team will be starting the CBA middle school tournament. The grind never stops.

Until next time..

Super Skillcase Profile: Malik Myatt (Philadelphia, PA)

Name: Malik Myatt

Hometown: Philadelphia, PA

Position: Forward

Class: 2026

Skillcase Analysis: Myatt comes with loads of potential. He can dance with the rock at a good size while creating opportunities for his teammates and himself. He also was a factor on the other side of the rock defending multiple positions.

Super Skillase Profile: Dominic Mauro (Manalapan, NJ)

Name: Dominic Mauro

Hometown: Manalapan, NJ

Position: Point Guard

Class: 2027

Skillcase Analysis: The youngest of the Mauro bunch, Dom is a true point guard that loves to drive, draw and dish. He gets a kick out of dropping dimes and will hit teammates from any angle. I also love the competitiveness he showed during the drills.

Super Skillcase Profile: Gioacchino Panzini (Spring Lake, NJ)

Name: Gioacchino Panzini

Hometown: Spring Lake, NJ

Position: Forward

Class: 2024

Skillcase Anaylsis: I loved this kid’s size and willingness to handle the rock. His handle needs to get a little tighter but he was effective with the rock. His height allowed him to see over the defense and either score or pass. He’s going to be a good player on the high school level in the Shore.

Basketball Spotlight Holiday Classic Adds A J.E.M.!

In 2016, Basketball Spotlight had our last J.E.M. All Star Classic. At that time was a very emotional time for our family. Since then we have received numerous requests to bring the event back. Therefore, we decided to attach Jonelle’s memory to an event that can benefit more players. So, we have decided add her memory to the Inaugural Holiday Classic. This is also fitting because Jonelle is a graduate of McCorristin High School which is now Trenton Catholic Academy.
