Basketball Spotlight Season Preview: New Jersey 12U Preview

Will The New Name Bring The Same Results?

The basketball season has arrived and Basketball Spotlight will kick things off with our season previews. We decided to do breakdown each AAU district by age or area and give you an inside look to some of the teams. Here’s look at the New Jersey12U Division. (Remember some things can change because no rosters are set.)

Team To Beat: Team Final

Their apparent move to the Mid Atlantic is not official therefore we will leave them in NJ for now. This group made a huge splash last season while taking home “Team Of The Year” honors. They have some of the top guards around and are very well coached. We look for them to be very tough to beat and to collect a lot of hardware once again.

Dark Horse: Playtime Panthers

This team put together a decent campaign last season. They had some historic battles with F.A.C.E.S. while also representing in a few Spotlight events. This season they will need to be ready because they can’t sneak up on anyone.

Preseason Player Of The Year: Nate Pierre-Louis (Team Final)
Look for Pierre-Louis to pump in over 20 points per contest and lead his team to some big victories. The reigning POY can flat out get busy when giving the opportunity. He has to be one of the top players in the country for his class.
