Basketball Spotlight Season Preview: Mid Atlantic 13U Preview

Are The D2 Nationals Champs For Real?

The basketball season has arrived and Basketball Spotlight will kick things off with our season previews. We decided to do breakdown each AAU district by age or area and give you an inside look to some of the teams. Here’s look at the Mid Atlantic 13U Division. (Remember some things can change because no rosters are set.)

Team To Beat: Delaware Finest Stars

The Division 2 National Champs play a physical style that frustrates opponents. They have one of the top guards in the region in Antwon Peace and the complimentary pieces to go around him. Teams will be hunting for this group this year so I hope they are ready.

Dark Horse: Philly Triple Threat

PTT made serious noise at the 12U Nationals last season by knocking off several top opponents. I love their backcourt and some of the other pieces they possess. We will get an early look at them during the Grand Finale.

Preseason Player Of The Year: Anthony Carr (Philly Triple Threat)

Carr showed he was one of the best guards in the region with his play last season. He was ranked as the #6 best combo guard at the 12U Nationals and capped his season off with a stellar performance at the Super Showcase.

Emerging Star: Khalir Johnson (Philly Aztecs)

Johnson has been on the grind and has impressed us at several events. He’s the most skilled post player in this region and has a chance to take home POY honors. He’s a dominant inside force. His squad is scheduled to come to the Grand Finale.
