Diary Of A Baller: Anthony "Champ" Mosely (Delaware) Entry #23

Hey world it's your boy Champ coming to you about my week. This week was a good week for me. My week started off early Monday morning with my 6am workouts. Conditioning and ball handling was the theme this week because we ran and dribbled most of the time, with a little shooting sprinkled in just to keep the rust off. We started off with stretching and warmups and went into running full court sprints, lane sprints, backpedal sprints, speed shuffling, and finally sideline to sideline. Just to let you all know there were mornings I didn't want to go but went anyway. Some mornings it ends up just me going and my brother and sister are at the house in the bed. I used to get upset until I asked my Dad why they didn't have to go, his answer was they said they didn't want to come. Honestly some days I want to say I don't want to go but then I think about things I have heard from coaches, and ex players about work ethic being a seperater at the highest level when the talent is equal. So with that in mind I get up and go to work everyday.

Also this week after the workouts I went to help with the basketball summer camp for the young boys at my new school. It was fun kind of being a camp director and refereeing basketball games. The camp days started off with the youngsters going to different fundamental stations until lunch and then after lunch they would play some 3 on 3's and some 5 on 5's games. Also had a lot of fun at the lunch break playing against some players that were stars back in the day trying to muscle me around. But in the end my new teammates and I were too much for the old heads.

This week I didn't have any AAU games but I did have a High School summer league game that we lost to Milford High. We didn't play well as a team and we were missing our 2 returning seniors that night. They both are very good and one of them Trevor Cooney actually plays for Team USA 18U and is representing our country as I write this diary. Congrats Trevor and I hope you bring home the Gold for us to see at Sanford. I also play in a local summer league with my brother James and we had a game Wednesday. We started out slow but finished strong to defeat some local kids. I finished that game with 26pts, 12 rebs, 11 assists, and 8 stls. It was so cool because they have an announcer at the games who gives out nicknames to the players and he started calling me Russell Westbrook a guard that can do it all. He calls my brother Deron Williams and we laughed all night about him calling us the unstoppable back court.

Well that's all for this week in the life of a eight grade. Stay tuned for next weeks update from the High School Summer League and the local YIA.

Champ Out!!!
