12U Nationals Day 2: Top Performers Part 2

Aaron Augustine (Georgia Stars)

Day 2 of the 12U Nationals took place today and there were some exciting moments. Here’s a look at some of the top players from the morning session. Here’s a look at the players that impressed us the afternoon session.

Day 2 Top Performers Part 2

Aaron Augustine Guard (Georgia Stars)- His coach told me he was the #1 point guard in the country so I had to check him out. One thing I must admit he can go. Aaron sets the tempo and makes the defense react to his game. His court vision and scoring ability stood out. I won’t crown him # 1 yet but he has a chance.

Davion Thomas Forward (Georgia Stars)- Thomas stands close to 6’7 and plays very huge inside. He’s a little on the thin side right now but he block shots regularly and will convert after a dish. Once he gets stronger his name will be one to know in high school.

Khalea Turner Forward (LA Primetime)- Turner battled early foul trouble and couldn’t find his rhythm. The tools are there though; he’s 6’7, athletic and works hard to get the ball. He is years away from being a finished product but we might be looking at the next Greg Monroe from the Louisiana area.

Adrian Moore Forward (LA Primetime)- Moore carried the load for his team. The southpaw pushed the rock end to end and glided in for several layups. Adrian plays above the rim occasionally and reminds me of a young Josh Smith.

Adam Seiko Forward (Impact Basketball)- Seiko gave LA Primetime problems. He’s a strong wing forward and was a constant matchup problem. He was too strong for small forwards and guards while using his quickness to out play big forwards.

Jarrick Ahanmisi Guard (Impact Basketball)- Jarrick is a big guard and plays like one. He’s able to see over most defenders and uses this advantage to drain shots and make passes. Every time Primetime tried to pull away Jarrick would make a big play.
