12U AAU Nationals South Preview: The South Bringing Tons Of Talent!

Do The SC Ravens Have Enough Talent To Win It All?

The Big Show is about to go down in Hampton, Virginia. Some of the top teams in the country will be in the building. Basketball Spotlight will be reporting daily and giving you exclusive coverage. We will be starting out our coverage with in depth previews. They are so many teams that we will split them up regionally. Here’s a look at the top teams traveling up from the South.

12U Preview Part 2 (South)

South Carolina Ravens: The Ravens are stacked with talent especially in the starting five. Keenan Black and Seven Woods lead the way and success should be in their near future. They will tangle with the National Champs Monday night.

Team Felton: They lost their point guard but Harry Giles should be ready to go. They have good length and are well coached. Don’t be surprised if they make a strong run at this event. Jalek Hamilton will have to step his game up.

Defenders Select: Formerly the Rytes Warriors, I love watching these boys go. They attack from all angles and apply tremendous defensive pressure. Once they get the lead on you it’s almost impossible to comeback.

QCAA Force: “Grande” Long will be getting a ton of attention at this event. This squad is well coached and they leave everything on the floor. Long will have to stay aggressive while getting up and down the floor.

Carolina Flight: This team has a true front line and should make a little noise in pool play. Kenneth Gorham is a player that continues to get better. Look for him to make a serious impact.

BWSL Tidewater Wildcats (Gold): These kids crashed the DC Assault Classic. They are very aggressive on the defensive end and have the forwards to hit the glass. This is like a home game for this team so they should be alright.
