Grand Finale 14U Blue Championship Recap: Philly Triple Threat Cruises To Crown

PTT Ran Through The Blue Division

Shawn Lloyd scored 14 points and Akeem King chipped in 13 markers as Philly Triple Threat defeated Abyssinian Church 55-34 to win the Grand Finale 14U Blue Championship. Jaquan Hickmond finished with 20 points for AC in the loss.

Top Performers

Shawn Lloyd Forward (PTT)- The very athletic forward dominated the game early scoring all 14 of his points in the first half. He has an inside presence on this level but I think in high school he will be pushed to the perimeter. He would have probably taken home MVP honors.

Akeem King Guard (PTT)- On this level he’s a big guard and I like his style of play. He reminds of a young Bradley Wannamaker in terms of his scoring and ability to make plays. King also gets after it on the defensive end.

Tony Carr Guard (PTT)- The quarterback looked very smooth once again playing up an age group. I just love his poise and ability to run the show. If you need scoring he will chip in but his natural feel makes him a quality floor general.

Jaquan Hickmond Guard (Abyssinian Church)- The explosive scorer did his usual damage at the Grand Finale. He tickled the twine from deep, mid range area and under the cup. This kid gets it in no matter the competition level.
