Funsport JHP Recaps: Holmes Leads NJ Pirates

Levi Holmes Hit 4 Treys On His Way To 24 Points

Levi Holmes scored 24 points including 4 treys and Maurice Brand added 19 markers as the NJ Pirates defeated New Heights 59-55 in Funsport action. Rakym Felder finished with 26 points for NH in the loss.

Top Performers

Levi Holmes Guard (NJ Pirates)- Holmes got things popping from the perimeter with some high arching treys. He shoots it real well off the dribble and has a European type approach to the game. NH had no answer for him at times.

Maurice Brand Guard (NJ Pirates)- Brand put the finishing touches on the young group with some lay ups in traffic. The bulky guard has some deceptive speed and can be very light on his feet.

Rakym Felder Guard (New Heights)- Felder finished with game high 26 points but needs to have better shot selection at times. A few of his shots took some teammates out of rhythm while others just stood and watched. But I must say when he makes his mind up on passing the rock he’s capable of making some good decisions.

Terrell Turner Forward (New Heights)- Turner continues to play good ball especially when he’s getting the touches. He makes a living eating from the offensive glass and scoring on put backs. I like what I see out of this kid.

Jared Rivers Guard (New Heights)- Rivers is turning himself into a point guard and looked very comfortable at times. It’s a smart move because this will probably be his natural position in high school so it’s important for him to get a good feel for running a team.
