Diary Of A Baller: Otis "The General" Livingston (NJ Got Game) Entry #12

What’s Happening?

I’m back again with another diary entry.

I was disappointed in my shot at the Grand Finale so I worked on it at the South Orange Middle school gym with my dad. We worked on 3 pointers from all angles and floaters. I’m definitely feeling a lot better after getting a lot of shots up. I’ve learned whether they’re falling or not, I have to keep stroking it. I’m starting to take floaters a little bit farther out because I can’t get as deep in the lane as I used to ‘cause guys are bigger now. It’s all about adjusting. I worked out physically also. I added a few extra exercises like knee to chest jumps, and blurpies. I like those workouts because the knee to chest jumps helps your lower abs, and the blurpies increases your hops and a little bit of abs. I also did the usual pushups, sit-ups, toe raises and jump rope. I like doing jump rope because it increases your endurance.

We had Got Game practice on Saturday, and I also had school practice. At Got Game we worked on plays and even added a couple of sets to our repertoire. We have to get into them faster and know them like the back of our hand. At the SOMS practice we went over our plays and then played 3 on 3 on 3. I can’t wait until our first school game against Montclair. It’s going to be the start of defending our back- to back championships and undefeated seasons. All of our players have gotten better since last year, but so has the competition. We have to bring it every night if we want to finish undefeated. I ended the week off just chilling and watching my Dolphins beat the Jets. Look out for the ‘Fins they’re still in the playoff hunt! I also finished my Social Studies project on Greek Architecture. We were doing the project on how common “Columns” are used in today’s world. We had to take pictures of Ionic, Doric, and Corinthian columns and there were a lot of examples in our town. It was a really fun project to do because I got to hang out with my friends while taking pictures. I will let you guys know how I did on the project. Not much was going on this week, but I hope you enjoyed my entry and I’ll check in later.

PEACE, “The General”
