Grand Finale 13U Orange Championship Recap: DC Assault Gets Their Banner!

DC Assault Took The Title I95 South

Sam Green scored 16 points and Ako Adams added 12 markers (2 treys) as DC Assault ran past New Heights 65-40 to win the Grand Finale 13U Orange Division Championship. Rakym Felder finished with 24 points including 6 treys for NH in the loss.

Alani Moore Guard (DC Assault)- “Showtime” capped off his Spotlight tournament debut in spectacular fashion. Moore stuffed the stat sheet with points, rebounds, steals and assist. His presence and unselfish style made the team go and his teammates happy.

Sam Green Forward (DC Assault)- Green inside presence might be the missing ingredient for Assault’s return to national dominance. He has soft hands and good footwork for a player his age. I’m not sure if he will continue on the post in years to come.

Ako Adams Guard (DC Assault)- Adams has grown a few inches and added some explosion to his game. I like his mid range pull up and the way he slashes down the lane. Defensively, he moves his feet well and plays the passing lanes.

Jamir Moultrie Guard (DC Assault)- Moultrie continued his hot play from the wing. He has good range and difficult to contain in transition. He’s definitely another weapon on this high powered squad.

Rakym Felder Guard (New Heights)- Felder score points from deep but needs to work on his controlling his emotions a little better. The talent is definitely there and but the only person that will hold him back his Felder himself.
