Basketball Spotlight Feature: Jagger With The Dagger!

Jagger Zrada (Team IZOD)

The leading candidate for the Most Improved Player on the 6th grade level has to be Jagger Zrada. Zrada has made the All Tournament Team for the Clash For The Cup and the Tip Off Classic in which his team won the crown. Known previously as a spot up shooter, Jagger has now shown improvement in ball handling and decision making. His play has helped Team IZOD hold on to the #1 spot and gives them a shot to win the Grand Finale.

Coach Gaffney expressed his love for coaching Zrada, “Jagger is hands down our hardest working player. He is a pleasure and joy to coach. He brings it every time he steps on the floor. Jagger has been with me and our group since 3rd grade when we were NJABC. The growth and improvement in his game has been outstanding. But the biggest attribute has been his approach. Our team is different when he is there because he brings that toughness and "Blue Collar" attitude towards the game and our players feed off that. The boys feel a greater level of confidence when he is there. We call him "Big Shot Jag", because he always finds a way to knock down a shot, make a great play or get a key turnover during the games. He is a special player for us and his future couldn't be brighter.”

We will get another look at Zrada as he joins his teammates at the Basketball Spotlight MDC at the end of May. Stay tuned as we bring you more top players to look out for.
