Takeover Continues To Roll – MIT Gold Champs

Team Takeover Wins MIT

Team Takeover 7th Grade just got back a week ago from Columbus, OH after competing in the NYBL Championships feeling pretty good as they took 4th Place amongst the most elite group of 32 teams ever assembled for the Class of 2019. They only lost to All Ohio Red by 5 points in the Final 4. All Ohio went on to win the NYBL Championship. Fast forward to this weekend in Washington DC to the MIT with a good field of 60 teams. Takeover took home the crown going 6-0 and beating the nationally ranked Rens out of NY by a score of 67-55 in the championship.

Takeover beat a tough DC Premier team in the semifinal 44-37, handled an aggressive and physical CIA Bounce (M-Elite) team 59-49 in the quarterfinal, and ran past a scrappy VA Select team in the Round of 16 by a score of 72-60 after dismantling their two pool play opponents by 42 and 45 point margin of victories. Takeover hopes to continue their hot run as they will be in Trenton, NJ this upcoming weekend for the Basketball Spotlight Grand Finale and then on to Memphis, TN for the 7th Grade DI AAU Nationals. All 10 Players contributed to the MIT Gold Championship. Jay Heath (16 points in Championship) had a stellar weekend for the victors and took home MVP honors and Cole Anthony won MVP for the runner up Rens. Congratulations to the Team Takeover players and coaches on the MIT Championship.
