Top Performers

Jamir Harris Guard (North Brunswick)- Harris led all scorers with 26 points and literally carried his team into the finals. Jamir’s perimeter game has improved since watching him last summer. He played under control and was able to make some good guard decisions with the pill. Neptune had no answer for him once he got into the teeth of the defense. This kid plays with a non-stop motor.

Marcus Ashmole Forward (North Brunswick)- Ashmole played well in the interior by rebounding and controlling the paint. I would like to see him display some more perimeter skills because it will prepare for him for his high school career. Right now he just uses strength and out works opponents.

Camy Calderon Guard (Neptune)- Calderon has the quickness to get into the lane at will. His low center of gravity makes it difficult to pluck him. He also loves using the floater to convert buckets. He played good denial defense on Harris in the 4th quarter but the game’s outcome was already decided. I like this kid’s toughness.

Chris Oreilly Guard (Colts Neck)- Orielly is a very confident player that roams the floor with a lot of swagger. He finished with 16 points while picking up his play after struggling a little in the first half. When his outside shot wasn’t falling he did other things such as rebound or dish to teammates. You will be hearing alot from this kid in the Shore Conference soon.

Kyle Czajkowski Guard (Eisenhower Middle)-Kyle tried to keep his team in the game by using his quickness to get past the defense. He exploited small gaps within the defense and used them to get to the tin. His squad came up short but you had to notice his effort.

#11?
Colts Neck had another player that stood out who wore number 11. I left the gym without getting his name. If anyone knows the name of this player please email me at basketballspotlight@hotmail.com
