Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic 8th Grade Best Of The Best

Best Performer: Julius Ellerbe (New World Unlimited)-Ellerbe jumped on our scene at the Future Phenom Camp and carried that momentum into the Tip Off Classic. He was fluid on offense in both passing and scoring. He also got things done on the defensive end while leading the DMV boys to the crown.

Best Prospect: Trey Patterson (Team RIO National)-A couple of players were eyeing Patterson for that #1 spot but the Garden State product did more than hold his own. When the 6’8 forward is hitting his outside shot he’s almost impossible to guard.

Best Scorer: Terrence Clarke (Expressions Elite)-Clarke made a huge impact while leading Expressions to the final four. He averaged 16 points a game with a game high 19 against PSA Cardinals. The 6’6 wing has complete guard skills is something to watch. He has seems to have a chance to something special in a few years.

Best Playmaker: Bray Freeman (New World Unlimited)-Freeman not only can score the rock but he can also get teammates involved. He seems to always make the right play for his team’s success. He relies more on substance than flash. This kid is a winner.

Best Versatility: Drissa Traore (PSA Cardinals)-Traore got it done on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he attacks on the baseline and in traffic using his athleticism to finish. On defense he can guard multiple positions and rebound at a high volume.

Best Shooter: Noah Harris (Team RIO National)-Harris was on fire in the semifinals against Expressions Elite as he banged home 8 treys on his way to 28 points. This kid has unlimited range and can shot off the bounce or after receiving the pass. He stretches the defense with ease.

Best Floor General: Elijah Hawkins (New World Unlimited)-Hawkins is a dazzling throwback that gets in the lane and drops dimes to teammates. The “Lil Genius” can also squeezed through traffic and get a bucket for himself.
