Diary Of A Baller: Drissa Traore (Harlem, NY) Entry #1

Drissa Traore Exploding At Practice

What’s up you guys,

My name is Drissa Traore and welcome to my ‘Diary of a Baller’. I’m excited about share my life with you all. I’m also surprised that I have the opportunity to do this because honestly I didn’t know I was going to be one of the biggest prospects in the country for the Class of 2021 and it really shows me that “Perfect practice creates great improvement” from coach Donald. So now tune in to diary entry number one of Drissa Traore from the PSA Cardinals.

I was born and raised in Harlem and I attend Success Academy Charter School. Which is located just a couple of blocks away for my house. Last week, I played in Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic. There was a lot of talent and competition there this weekend, but fell we short. We were missing our key players that were at school. I did okay but I could’ve have played better , and knowing that I did not play up to my expectations motivated me to get right into gym on Monday to work on my game . For most of the week I haven't had too much time to myself because I've been having to do a lot of studying for my school finals so I can end 2016 off the right way . But the highlight of my week was when my Coach called me on Thursday to play against some H.S and college kids and surprisingly I held my own out there. Most of the guys was bigger and stronger than me so it forced me expand my game.

On Friday, I had practice with my school team and I'm optimistic about our chances of winning it all this year. Between me and my co-captain Abubakar , and the development of my teammates we have a legitimate shot at it this year . On Saturday, Coach Greg scheduled workouts for the guys who were home from school at the Terminal 23 (Melo Gym ) . We did a lot of work during that two hour span and my body was done when I left the gym lol. For the first hour we did weight training and second hour was the killer, we got up nearly 1000 shots each using the GUN. After practice a few teammates and I just chilled in the city for a minute but it was too cold to be out there for long.

I'm looking forward to next week I hope I can find more time for myself hopefully play a little bit 2K with my friends, and get some more 1 on 1 workouts so I can dominate in the Tri-state tournament this weekend. But that's it for me guys see you guys next week.
