Matthew Johnson of Life Center Academy was recently diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a heart disease that kills dozens of young athletes each year. . Johnson was a star for the Playaz Basketball Club during his Basketball Spotlight years including winning POY honors as a 7th Grader. Matthew is no longer allowed to play competitive basketball games but has decided to give back to the game he loves in a different way. Stay strong Matt and Basketball Spotlight loves you.
