Basketball Spotlight Elite 80 Expo Preview: South Jersey Version

The Southern part of New Jersey has always felt it has been overlooked in terms of basketball talent. They had their share of studs come through there like Dajuan Wagner and most recently Mike Gilchrist but for the most part they feel slighted. Now there’s a group of players coming to the Expo that would like to change this perception.

South Jersey Is Coming!

Ry’n Bland Forward (Voorhees, NJ)- The miniature Sean May is ready to bring his soft touch and scoring prowess to this event. He took up a lot of space at the Gym Rat Challenge and battled some top post players in that event. Bland will be an instant impact this AAU season and should have a good showing this weekend.

Lewis Hayes Guard (Voorhees, NJ)- The smooth scoring guard brings some good intangibles to the table. He has good size for the wing spot and can get loose in the open floor. He has it in his genes to be a top notch ball player now it’s up to him to make everyone else take notice. This is the stage for that!

John Azzanairo Guard (Evesham, NJ)- John made me a believer in his stroke at the NJ Adidas Jr. Phenom Camp. The combo guard does have some point guard instincts and looks good when he shows them. This weekend his floor general skills will get put to the test because the guard play will be serious.

Amir Middred Forward (Camden, NJ)- The South Jersey has had it’s share of big time balers and Middred has the chance to be the next one. The versatile forward brings some good skills to the table and has a tremendous upside. I’m anxious to see him mix it up with the other ballers.

Dylan Daniluk Forward (Runnemede, NJ)- The youngster is very skilled and should be ready to step up in this atmosphere. I got a chance to check him during the Hoop Group Jr. Elite Camp and he demonstrated some good technique and ability to use his size. Those tools will be needed this weekend.
