Tyvez Monroe Gearing Up For Big Year

Tyvez Monroe is getting ready for a new season by balling for TC Williams JV squad (School From “Remember The Titans”) as an 8th grader. Monroe is one of the star players of Fairfax Stars AAU squad from the Potomac Valley. His coach Charles Pittman understands his potential, “Playing JV as an 8th grader. The sky is the limit for this kid, when all is said and done should play on the D-1 college level” Pittman said.

Monroe has been very dominant on the AAU circuit for a while and showed his goods at the Basketball Spotlight Super Showcase. He reminds this writer of a miniature Billy Owens the former Syracuse Orange star and NBA player. Pittman also sees the same in Monroe, “Tyvez is a guard in a power forwards body, good rebounder, and excellent shooter with solid ball handling skills. A hard check for anyone too big and strong for guards and too athletic for bigs to try and guard” said Pittman.

Like most players on this level Monroe as a lot of growth in his game. Coach Pittman is known for developing players knows what Monroe needs to do to get ready to reach his potential. “Tyvez needs to get into better shape and increase his foot speed to be ready for the high school level” Pittman finished.

Basketball Spotlight will keep you posted on Monroe’s progress during this season.
