Diary Of A Baller: Malachi "Shoota" Richardson (Trenton, NJ) Entry #15

What's Up Everybody! It's the Shoota coming at you, this week I'll be letting you know how my last two weeks were.

Week 2

Sunday morning, I went to church with my mom then I relaxed the rest of the day. By Monday my groin felt 100% better, I couldn't get out to the gym because of the snow but that was cool though because it gave me another day to rest. Tuesday we had Team Final practice, to be honest I thought we played around in practice to much this week. Maybe it was because it was the holidays and we were out of school, everybody was in a playful mood. I was a little winded in practice, not playing for those few days, boy was I outta shape. I knew I had to do some running on my own to get back in shape, so I could be prepared to play at the Garden. I also checked out Trenton Catholic Academy Christmas tournament. It was crowded and hot in the gym and I still keep getting asked what high school I'm going to attend, my parents and I haven't made a decision is my answer.

Friday night my parents and I went to church to bring in the New Year, it was packed at church. My sister and her friends went to a club in Philly to celebrate the new year. Happy New Year Everybody!

The Garden!
Early Sunday morning I called my barber Roy Wrenn to get my hair cut. After my hair cut I just chilled until it was time to get the train to the Garden.

The Garden floor is smaller than I thought it would be, but the arena itself is big. Shout out to Commissioner Rickey Rivers, Funsportinc Jr. Pro League for giving us the opportunity to play a championship game at the Garden. I was hyped when I went to the locker room and saw my uniform hanging up and my sneakers on my chair.

The Game!
I got my first dunk at the Garden (in the layup line), my brother Corey said whenever I get my first dunk he would give me $100. Team Scan jumped on us quick and was winning the whole game until the last 3 minutes. Coach P kept telling us if we get the lead we'll win this game, and everybody believed that, because when we got the lead we pulled it out. Shout out to my boys Fresh and Sam I Am for hitting some key shots during that last three minutes. Making our free throws at the end of the game was also crucial for us to win. Congrats to Fresh, game MVP. We are 3 for 3 in championship games.

After the game we all had to move fast so we wouldn't miss our train...lol. Next Up Clash For The Cup!
