Basketbull Columbus Day 13U Championship: Team Scan Gets The Hardware!

Team Scan Gets It Done!

Team Scan held off CT Elite 66-61 to win the Basketbull Columbus Day Classic 13U Championship. This was a hard fought game and both teams left everything on the floor.

Top Performers

Unique Mclean Forward (Team Scan)- Unique was an excellent pick up for TS. The lengthy wing guard can create things off the bounce and has a good range from the perimeter. He also was very active on the glass especially on the offensive end. He loves going towards the cup and has a good first step.

George Pena Guard (Team Scan)- Pena had some strong points at the end of the game while scoring during crunch time. Pena must understand that he has more talent around him this season and look to distribute the rock more. That will prepare for him basketball on the next level.

Korey Benson Forward (Team Scan)- Benson is able to burst through the defense but he must continue to work on finishing under control. But considering where he was at last season I must admit he’s headed into the right direction. I think he will be a backcourt player soon.

Tremont Waters Guard (CT Elite)- I got a call that Waters was playing 16U last summer as a rising 7th Grader. But at Basketball Spotlight, seeing is believing. He wasn’t rocking against high school kids but this youngster can go. He has a Chris Paul type of approach but with a nice stroke. He asked for the rock in money time and displayed how nice he really was. He had the TS defenders on skates and caused the coach which defensive schemes because of his presence.

Chris Jones Guard (CT Elite)- Jones does what he does best which is control the tempo. He understands is size and how to position himself to stay away from trouble. He’s willing to shoot the big trey and knows how to stay out of trouble when handling the pill. His poise is something to watch on this level.

Will Hardie Forward (CT Elite)- Hardie was a live body in the paint. He’s not a post player but has long wiry arms and good leaping ability which helped him contribute in a huge way. He had a very productive first half.
