Clash For The Cup: 13U Top Performers (We Got Game)

Cameron Wiston (Team Scan)

The 13U Division at the Clash For The Cup and it definitely had some talent. Here’s one of our reports of the Top Performers from this event. We will have more to come.

13U Top Performers

Cameron Winston Forward (Team Scan)- Winston is known for playing hard and he lived up to that rep this weekend. But he also showed some improvement in his perimeter game nailing 6 treys this weekend. You can see this is something he has been working on in the lab.

Unique Mclean Guard (Team Scan)- Unique is not a secret anymore so defenses are focusing on his every move. He had some success this weekend against a few teams but needs to bring the same intensity each time out. Welcome to the land of stardom young fella.

Korey Benson Guard (Team Scan)- Benson is capable of attacking at any moment. His aggressive play earns him several trips to the foul line. This style can also get him into foul trouble which is why it’s important for him to pick his spots well.

Matt Maloney Guard (Gauchos)- Maloney is a hired gun from the perimeter and he seems to be accepting his role. He can catch and shoot with the best of them. His ability to drain the three ball will make the defense come out of the zone and play this squad man to man.

Tremont Waters Guard (CT Elite)- Waters made his Spotlight debut and the fluid guard had some impressive moments. He used his unlimited range to nail big shots especially against the Philly Aztecs where he dropped 22 points in their victory. He led his team to the final four of this event.

Will Hardie Guard (CT Elite)- Hardie can really stroke it and he showed it during the semifinals against the Gauchos. This youngster seems to have a load of potential and CT might be the place for him to get it done. I like his wiry frame and size for his position.

Trevon Duval Guard (Philly Aztecs)- Duval showed that playing up is not a problem. The crafty point guard scored 17 points against CT Elite and 16 markers against SI Ironmen. Imagine what he would have done on the 12U level.

Alex Leder Guard (ETU)- Leder gave the crowd a treat with his superb ball handling and ability to get into the lane. His confidence seems to be rising while playing on this level. The best is yet to come to this kid.
