Basketball Spotlight Exclusive: One On One Feat. Scottie "The Show" Lewis

Micah and Scottie Lewis

Basketball Spotlight loves letting you guys get to know the new prospects on the horizon. During the Super Skillcase Scottie Lewis made his Basketball Spotlight debut and left as the talk of the event. We got a chance to sit down and talk to the youngster and here’s what he had to say.

One on One Feat. Scottie Lewis

BS: How has the transition been for you moving from Georgia to New Jersey?
SL: It was a bit of a long journey. I started off in Ohio and the Bronx before moving to New Jersey. My family and I very excited to be in NJ.

BS: How do you feel about your Team RIO National team and what can be expected from you guys?
SL: The team is really cool. I played against all of these guys in the NYBL last year and it's amazing to all now be part of the same team. They are great friends and very supportive of each other. We all know we have to push each other and have a lot of hard work ahead of us to compete for a national title.

BS: What’s the biggest moment of your young career thus far?
SL: The biggest moment was winning MVP of YOBA Nationals. I am hoping that we can create a bigger team moment this year with a national championship.

BS: What’s your dream college and why?
SL: My two dream colleges are UNC and Florida. Both have a great programs and coaches. UNC has MJ's legacy which would be really cool to be part of. Not to mention Micah Lancaster lives there and can train me often. Florida is awesome with Billy Donovan and the way they prepare players for the next level.

BS: Who are the strengths in your game?
SL: I think my speed and ability to score inside/out are my strengths.

BS: What areas do you need to work on the most?
SL: My left hand and knowledge of the game are the areas I need to work on the most this year.

BS: Who would you consider the best opponent you ever faced?
SL: The best opponent I ever faced was Nazi Reid at Super Skillcase. It was exciting to be challenged by such a great older player.

BS: If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would you select and why?
SL: This is an easy one, Kevin Durant. He is my favorite NBA player and I try to model my game after him. My instagram name is secondkd.
