12U AAU Nationals Recap Day 3: Delaware Hawks Advance In Overtime

Austin Tilghman Made Big Plays Today

Wa’mere Murphy pumped in a game high 28 points as Delaware Hawks defeated Illinois Basketball Association 47-44 in overtime at the 12U AAU Nationals. Jontrell Walker finished with 11 markers for IBA.

Day 3 Standout Performers

Austin Tilghman Guard (Delaware Hawks)- In overtime Austin took it upon himself to make some big plays on both ends of the floor. First he scored on a driving layup, and then he raced down the floor to make a big time block. He finished off his stellar extra period play hitting Wa’mere Murphy with a swift pass to complete the victory

Wa’mere Murphy Forward (Delaware Hawks)- What else needs to be said? Murphy once again put up big numbers in a highly competitive contest. He’s very active on the glass and seems to raise his level of play as the game gets tighter. He’s definitely showing that he’s one of the top players in the country right now.

Jorge Rodriquez Forward (Delaware Hawks)- Jorge once again provided some spark inside. He fought for boards and used his toughness to make things happen. He’s a needed force for this team.

Jontrell Walker Guard (IBA)- Walker doesn’t have the prettiest handle but it got the job down for most of the game. He beat defenders off the bounce and scored in the lane on several occasions. He did a good job as the primary ball handler against that pressure.
