The 7th Grade Division of the Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic was filled with exciting players. Here’s our second look at the top performers
Tip Off Classic 7th Grade Orange Division Top Performers Part 2
Nick Harken Forward (Jersey Ball)- Different Team, Different Level but same results. Nick Harken is a baller and showed it at the Tip Off Classic. Harken made his Spotlight season debut with Jersey Ball and was a walking double-double. He showed the ability to score through contact in the lane and along the baseline. He topped the 20-point mark on a few occasions while helping his team reach the final four.
Anthony Mauro Guard (Jersey Ball)- The lefty split time with Jersey Ball and Sha Elite on the 8th Grade level. Mauro was never the one to lack confidence so he willing to score against anybody. He it double digits throughout the weekend while scoring from all three levels.
Alex Mazella Guard (Jersey Ball)- Mazella looked good running the point for Jersey Ball. The defense couldn’t speed him up as he directed traffic all weekend. Alex also will nail a trey or use a floater to keep the defense honest. I like the confidence he showed against this high-level competition.
Aidan Knight Guard (Expressions Elite)- The lanky guard led The X in scoring over the weekend. His lucky number seemed to be 14 as he dropped 14 points on three occasions. He still doesn’t have full control over his body which means that he hasn’t scratched the surface of his potential. He was a solid force that helped them reach the semifinals.
Ma’khi Richardson Forward (Expressions Elite)- Richardson is good sized forward that also got into the scoring column for Expressions. He found the hole by being a good slasher and using his length to finish. I also liked his presence on the defensive end. He’s another decent prospect for The X.
Amare Rose Guard (Expressions Elite)- Rose is another solid guard from this final four team. I like his stroke and play making ability on the floor. He seems to be under control on the floor and can contribute at either guard position.
