Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic 7th Grade Top Performers Part 2

Ahmad Nowell

The Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic 7th Grade Division had some fierce battles. Here’s Part 2 of our top performers.

Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic 7th Grade Top Performers Part 2

Ahmad Nowell Guard (Team Final/Fidonce)- The scoring guard has long arms and finishing ability beyond his years. His best game of the weekend came in the semifinal showdown versus eventual champion Team Thrill. Nowell chipped the Maryland based squad for 22 markers. Most of his buckets come from half court drives and flourishing in transition. He’s one of the highly touted players in the country.

Mike Jones Jr. Guard (Team Final/Fidonce)- Jones also can score the ball. He has a sweet jump shot and smooth moves when going to the cup. He also had a good outing versus Team Thrill on which he finished with 14 points. TFF have a mean scoring 1-2 punch with Nowell and Deuce Jones.
Kaafiq Myers Guard (Team Final/Fidonce)- Myers plays defense 94 feet and takes pride in making ball handlers cough up the pill. His defense ignited the Team Final/Fidonce offense. He was a total ball hawk.
Deshon Dodson Forward (Team Final/Fidonce)- Dodson was a miniature Sean May. He has a wide body, soft hands and a soft touch. He controlled the inside the entire weekend.
Jaylen Bushell Guard (Playtime Panthers)- Cookie is now a guard and made the transition smoothly. The lefty stayed in attack mode and showed he could score at the bucket or the mid-range game. He averaged double figures over the weekend.
Austin Spencer Guard (Playtime Panthers)- Spencer is an outside shooting threat and confident guard handling the pill. He pumped 16 points against SBA Elite including 3 treys. I also like his size for his position.
Shawn Spencer Guard (Playtime Panthers)- Austin’s brother Shawn can also shoot the pill. He stretched the defense by nearly averaging double digits. He also plays hard on the defensive end.
