Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic 8th Grade Top Performers Part 1

Sebastian Robinson Guard (Team Final)-Robinson is the silent assassin on Team Final. Robinson usually does not show a lot of emotions on the court but he always plays at a high level.. He can score from all three levels on court and showed it in the championship game. Robinson was able to score 20 pts while shooting perfect from the floor and the foul line. Sebastian showed why he’s one of the top guards in the class of 2023. His ability to attack the rim and finish is one of the best we have seen; his improved jump shot allows him to knockdown three pointers at a high percentage.

Dean Newsome Guard (Team Final)-Newsome is a combo guard with a very strong athletic body. Newsome can get anywhere on the court that he wants and can finish through contact easily. Dean has a nice mid range game that helps him keep defenders off balance. He played big in the championship game scoring 12pts and helped lead Team Final to the championship.
DJ Wagner Guard (Team Final)- Wagner has a powerful frame that allows him to finish through contact when he is attacking the rim. He has the ability to knock down the three and has a serious mid range game. Defenders have a hard time guarding him because of his ability to use angles to get by them. Wagner is very aggressive and is always in attack mode. DJ showed this in the championship game where he scored big basket after big basket to help his team win the championship game. We see a bright future for Wagner if he continues to work hard.
Cornelius Robinson Forward (Team Final)- Robinson is coming off a wrist injury that had sideline for about 8 months. He stands about 6’6 and is very solid. Robinson was the anchor to Team Finals interior defense. He uncanny ability to get rebounds and protect the rim in second to none. His frame allows him to absorb contact like it was nothing. We believe when Robinson is at a 100 percent he will able to contribute more on the offensive end.
Jonathan Lamothe Forward (Team Thrill)-Jonathan is a scoring machine. His long frame allows him to see and shoot over smaller guards. The whole weekend he showed why he is one of the best scorers in the country. He has the ability to knock down the three and get to the rim whenever he wants to. Lamothe almost imposed his will in the second half of the championship to help Team Thrill with a comeback win. We like how the future looks for Lamothe if he continues to work hard.
Karim Harris Forward (Team Thrill)- Harris is a big body that does not doing the dirty work for Team Thrill. Harris was a savage on the boards this weekend and showed why he has the potential to be one the best forwards in his class. Harris a good finisher around the basket and is the anchor of the Team Thrill defense. We like his ability to get the fast breaks going by pushing the ball up the court.
Mike Williams Guard (Team Thrill)- Williams uses his athletic body and speed to get anywhere on the court. Williams has a motor that always seem to be on go. Williams relentless style gives other players problems when he is playing defense on them. He can attack the rim and finish with either hand with ease. We like his attack mentally and the way he leads his teammates into battle. Williams is going cause a lot of problems for players in his class.

Derrick Queen Guard (Team Thrill)- Queen plays the game with so much energy for Team Thrill. His relentless play on the court causes a lot of problems for the other team. He is a good finisher at the rim and has the ability to shoot a nice pullup jump shot.
