Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic 7th Grade Top Performers Part 2

The 7th Grade Division of the Tip Off Classic was some of the most competitive basketball of the weekend. Here’s our second look at the Top Performers.

Akil Watson Guard (East Coast Elite)- Watson is a wing player that has the ability to attack and finish at the rim. If you leave him open he will knockdown the three balls; He is versatile player that he can play big or step out on the perimeter and guard little guards. Akil has a great upside and we saw some dominate performances at times in his games. He will be a force on the scene of continues to improve his game.



Tarik Watson Forward (East Coast Elite)- Watson is class of 2024 but plays 2023 for East Coast Elite. This kid dominates the paint with his array of post moves and finishes around the basket. Tarik is an excellent defender and rebounder around the basket; he can also step out and hit the midrange jump shot. We looking forward to great things from him this year.
Justin Bonsu Guard (East Coast Elite)-Bonsu is a knock down shooter that hits a high percentage of his three pointers. The other team has to always know where he is on the court. If you leave him open it is automatic three ball. He has the ability to attack the basket and use his floater game to score. If he keeps developing this kid might be a problem.
Joseph Bowen Forward (East Coast Elite)-Bowen is a strong presence down low for East Coast Elite. He helped them on their run to the Final four this past weekend. Joseph is explosive and gets off the floor quickly. He finishes with ease around the basket and gave the other teams fits in trying to stop him. We expect big things from him in the upcoming season. 

Mason Piorkowski Guard (NJ Playaz)- Mason showed at the Basketball Spotlight Tipoff Classic why reclassifying has helped him to be one of the best guards in New Jersey. He fearless player that will knockdown NBA threes in your face. Mason has a great handle that he uses to get anywhere on the floor. Mason helped the NJ Playaz this past weekend by knocking down some big shots; He will help the Playaz make some noise this year. 

Justin Noelizaire Guard (NJ Playaz)- Noelizaire is an athletic slashing wing that loves to use his handle to attack the rim. He capable of finishing with either hand and can knockdown the midrange shot. Justin has a nice motor that helps the NJ Playaz go. He stepped up big when they needed him to, scoring the game winner against the Riverside Hawks in pool play.
