Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase Class of 2024 Top Performers

Jerry Easter (Ohio)

Basketball Spotlight took a trip to Columbus, Ohio for the Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase. Here’s a look at the Baby Ballers.

Buckeye Prep Elite Showcase Class of 2024 Top Performers

Jerry Easter Guard (Ohio)- I haven’t seen Easter play since last summer at the Future Phenom Camp. I must say I like the way he handled his business on the floor. He’s very polished for a youngster and sees the game the few plays ahead. He has the floater down pat and will can the 3 ball. He was the best player in his class at this event.

Julian Bunton Guard (Kentucky)- Bunton teamed with Easter and formed a great back court in the All Star Game. He’s a creator off the bounce and even showed some behind the back dribbles. I like the way he slices through the lane one his way to the bucket.

Marcus Blackwell Guard (Ohio)- The 3rd Grader has a slick southpaw handle and looked like he belonged with this older group. He’s always in attack mode and often uses a double clutch to finish over shot blockers. You can see he spends most of his playing days against older competition.

Hunter Harding Forward (Ohio)- Harding was the biggest player on the floor and made his presence felt. I like his soft touch near the rim and nose for the ball. He controlled the boards in the paint.

Dominque Murphy Forward (Ohio)- Murphy ran the floor well for a big forward and also showed he could shoot deep. He moves well and can even put the pill on the deck.

Marcus Blackwell Guard (Ohio)- Blackwell shows quickness on both sides of the ball. He made some tough moves near the basket while in traffic. On defense he was a ball hawk trapping defenders for 94 feet.

Darryn Peterson Guard (Ohio)- Peterson was a quick scoring guard that caught my eye. He was ultra-quick in transition and beat the shot blockers to the cup. He knows how to put moves together.
