Delaware Explosion 6th Grade Top Performers

Tyrese Pettjohn

Basketball Spotlight took a trip to the Delaware Explosion event to check out the top talent from the First State. Here’s a look at the 6th Grade Division standouts.

Delaware Explosion 6th Grade Top Performers

Tyrese Pettjohn Guard (6th Man)- Pettjohn led the game in scoring with 14 markers and dazzled the crowd with his ability to push the rock. He’s one of the smallest players on the floor but that still didn’t stop him from shining. I like how he hits the lane and uses a mean pull up.

Aaron Johnson Guard (6th Man)- Johnson controlled the tempo from the point guard position. He surveyed the floor well while getting into the teeth of the defense. His court vision stood out as he made life very easy for his teammates.
Israel Marion Guard (6th Man)- Marion was a good combo guard that spent the afternoon attacking the basket. He has the knack to score and doesn’t hesitate to put it up. He tallied 11 markers in the win for 6th Man.
Marice Kilgoe Forward (6th Man)- Kilgoe was the workhorse inside using his athleticism and wide frame to crash the glass and convert put backs. Great energy to have on the floor.
Dadrien Howell Guard (Del. Wolfpack)- Howell handles the pill like a string. He got in the lane whenever he wanted by baking defenders and finishing with floaters and look away dimes. It was hard to stay in front of this kid. He took home MVP honors for his team.
Jazelle Banks Guard (Del. Wolfpack)- Banks impressed us a couple of years ago and now she only got better. She handles the rock with confidence against the guys. I like how she sees the floor and creates off the dribble. She has an immediate impact when she steps on the floor.
TKO Jones Guard (Del. Wolfpack)- Jones had his moments with some deceptive moves and scoring with floaters. The southpaw has a crisp handle and feel for the game. He can be exciting to watch.
