Wassup readers, Kyle Anderson here reporting to you my weekly diary. This week wasn't the toughest week but it was alright. Let me start off on Monday.
Monday was pretty much A wack day. I had A day off but no one was at two of the local parks. So I spent all day trying to find out where to play. Finally, I decided on going to play at the park up the block, but too late :-( . Tuesday was Playaz practice with the 16s and 17s. I worked out with them for a while but then went over to Paterson Catholic to work out with my football - Quarterback coach. The drills and throwing technique is way different from what I was taught at North Bergen, but I'll adapt. Coach told me about ways to warm up and the new way they want me to throw.
Wednesday was Playaz 15u practice. Practice was light and we scrimmaged after (Caught A dunk,LOL).Then came the end of the week, Thursday and Friday. Thursday was A raining day and I did absolutely nothing, except watch Space Jam. Friday started the Spring Fling Phase 1 (the tournament started on Thursday, but our first game was on Friday). Friday night was A tough game with my 15u Playaz team. We played Team Kobe. They were all good and much stronger then us. "We beat 'em tho". I had 16 points in the victory. Got home late that night and I was EXHAUSTED. WOOF. Early Saturday morning woke up and had A 10 o'clock game against the New York Panthers. Didn't play so well there but still a W(win). Next victim was Team Boss who has Sean Grennon who's A really good player who can shoot from almost anywhere on the court. Got that win by 10, light. Remember, these are 16U teams, we are 15U! Playoffs finally, Quarterfinals was against Conneticut Basketball Club. This team beat New Heights 16s who has Jayvaughn Pinkston, Harold McBride and Devin Collier. We pulled it out by 1 on the team who beat New Heights. After A long day I was too tired. The next day was the semis against Dc Assault. Now, once again remember this is our 15yr old team in the 16yr old tournament playing in the Semis'.
So the semis' is against DC Assault. This team was a much bigger and stronger team then us. They have 6'8 Josh Hairston, 6'1 Tyler Thornton, Blake Bozeman (Coach Bozeman was there watching I met him at Eastern last year, he told me about some of the players he coached at Cal) and some other good players. I didn't think they were better skilled but obviously they were. I led the game in scoring with 17 points after gettin' ripped by my dad. I guess it helped but not enough, LOL. A 14 yr old leading A 16yr old game in scoring is pretty good in my eyes. After the loss was the Playaz Banquet. The banquet was C8-)8-)L and everything. I liked it a lot. But I just got home and just came back from going to the Pizza store on my block. Now I'm headin' off to bed,LOL! Next week is the Spring Fling Phase II 15u, 13u, and 17u.
