Diary Of A Baller: Myles Dread (Burtonsville, MD) Entry #7

Myles Dread At Home

Dear Basketball World,

This week was a calm week at the Dread house. This week we only had four days of school because of teacher appreciation day. On Tuesday I finally got my English grades back. I finally have an A in the class! I officially have all A’s in all of my classes. My mom said that she was proud of me and told me to keep up the good work. My dad said, “That’s what you’re supposed to do!’’ That’s his way of saying good job. It was really important to me to get straight a’s this semester because I wanted to make a good impression on my teachers at my new school.

This week in practice Coach Keith put in a lot of new plays in our offense. At first it was a lot to handle but now I think I get the idea of the new offenses. He really does a good job of making sure the whole team knows the plays before he goes on to the next one. I have to make sure my team knows every play before we scrimmage in practice. I think this is going to be a very good season for us.

After early morning practice on Sunday, my dad made his world famous chocolate-chip pancakes. My dad, my brother, and I sat down and stuffed ourselves with the delicious pancakes as we watched football. I ate the most because I have the biggest appetite. Oh I almost forgot Monday is pajama day at school!

Until next time,
Myles Dread
