12U Nationals Recap: Virginia Cardinals Cruise

Jason Remy Caught Fire Today!

Jason Remy hit three treys and finished with 9 points as the Virginia Cardinals used a balanced attack to defeat F.A.C.E.S. 49-34 at the AAU 12U Nationals in Hampton, Virginia. Samir Taylor finished with 7 points for F.A.C.E.S. in the loss.

Spotlight Players

Jason Remy Guard (Virginia Cardinals)- Remy caught fire from the left corner and burned F.A.C.E.S. in the second half. His high arching treys helped stretch the lead and give VA the breathing room they needed to preserve the victory. Jason shot the lights out today.

Tyvez Monroe Forward (Virginia Cardinals)- Monroe has the body of a power player but uses finesse to get the job done. He’s capable of draining a long trey or attacking a post player off the dribble. He’s definitely a threat when he touches the rock.

Marcus Adkinson Guard (Virginia Cardinals)- Adkinson has a lot of bop in his game. He handles the rock strong with both hands and is crafty enough to finish in the lane. Marcus is a true playmaker that spends some time running the point along with Carlos Thrash.

Carlos Thrash Guard (Virginia Cardinals)- Speaking of Thrash the pint size point guard got after it on both ends of the floor. He pressured the F.A.C.E.S. guards the entire length off the floor while also changing the pace of the offense by pushing the rock and creating opportunities.

Cameron Vaughn Forward (Virginia Cardinals)- Vaughn plays bigger than his height. He was able to hit the boards and used his long arms to block a few shots. Cameron can put the rock on the floor and step behind the arc for a trey.

Austin Goodluck Forward (F.A.C.E.S.)- Goodluck gave his team a spark when he came into the game with his ability to pass the rock especially to fellow post players. He gave a good effort despite the score.
