Strengths: Hernandez is a scoring guard that loves to shoot the outside shot or create opportunities off the dribble. He knows how to find the gaps in the defense when getting things going. He’s capable of scoring in bunches. Joel will also stick his nose inside and battle for rebounds which is a tribute to his toughness. On defense he moves his feet well and forces turnovers with ball pressure.
Areas of Improvement: Hernandez is a shooting guard in a point guard frame so he will have to learn some more floor general techniques. These techniques should include decision making and ball handling. He also needs to add some arch to his outside shot, right now it’s effective but kind of a line drive.
