Gym Work Training took control in the second half and never looked backed as they defeated NJ Rivals 45-27 to win the Moody Park Summer League Middle School AAU Division Championship. DJ Snead and Rasheen Yon tallied 14 markers apiece while Dylan Napoleon added 12 points in the win. Basketball Spotlight will like to congratulate both teams with making the finals and the Moody Park Staff for another great summer league.

Moody Park Summer League Championship Game Top Performers

DJ Snead Guard (Gym Work Training)- The southpaw had another outstanding outing as his team brought home the gold. He was able to maneuver in the lane while finishing with floaters and body-controlled layups. He was also a beast transition by filling the lane and even scoring with his off hand occasionally. His addition helped Gym Work to the next level.

Rasheen Yon Guard (Gym Work Training)- After a slow start the lightning quick point guard picked up his game by getting it done on the defensive end. Yon collected about 12 steals which he converted into several buckets on the break. He harassed the Rivals for 94 feet especially in the second hale is a total ball hawk.

Dylan Napoleon Forward (Gym Work Training)- This rising 8th Grader played very well in the chip. His foot work is top notch and he has a feathery tough. His nose for the ball allowed him to be in position when needed. I also like the way he puts the rock on the deck.

Javion Cesar Jones Guard (NJ Rivals)- Jones came to play tonight especially in the first half. He has a smoothness with the rock when attacking and looks even better when knocking down his jump shot. I love this kid upside and we will be hearing his name a lot in the future.

Azir Bethea Guard (NJ Rivals)- Bethea has progressed well in the summer. The streaky guard came into his own by driving the lane, scoring and playing top notch defense. He’s also a worker on the glass often battling with taller and stronger opponents.
