Diary Of A Baller: Trey Patterson (Somerset, NJ) Entry #4

Trey Patterson Working Hard

Hello Basketball World,

This is Trey Patterson, signing back in for my 4th week of ‘Diary of a Baller’ and this week was a very fun-filled and exciting week for me. On Monday, I went to Six Flags with a couple of my school friends. On Wednesday, I had physical therapy, then on Thursday, I had a cross-country meet. On Friday, I went to Rutgers Midnight Madness. On Saturday, I had an AAU practice.

Since Monday was a day off from school, my friends’ and I planned a fun day at Six Flags/Great Adventures Amusement Park. I was so excited for this day to arrive, I was concerned that the weather would cause us to not be able to go, but it was a breezy day, that turned out to be nice and sunny for us. All of my friends were talking about getting on the big rides, and I really didn’t know what to expect, as it was my first time getting on any high roller coasters at Six Flags. I had many different emotions before getting on these rides, because I was never a fan of roller coasters before now. I still can’t get over that adrenaline. We ended up getting on most of the high roller coasters. My favorite moment, was when I went on the World’s Tallest roller coaster, Kingda Ka. That was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I had a lot of fun with my friends, and I look forward to going back.

On Wednesday, I went to physical therapy. During my therapy session this week, we worked on improving my explosiveness and my ability to jump higher. After therapy, my quads were extremely sore, as it was a tough workout session. On Thursday, I had an away cross-country meet at Wardlaw Hartridge. It was a very nice running weather type of day. I felt really relaxed before the start of the race, and out of 80 kids, I placed 1st overall. My final time for the race was 11:31 on a 1.8 mile course.

On Friday, I attended Rutgers Midnight Madness with one of my friends. It was a very cool experience to watch a college team participate in many different team activities along with a three point and dunk contest.

On Saturday morning, I had an AAU practice. During practice, we worked on a lot of different concepts focusing on team emphasis, such as going over offensive and defensive sets. We also did a lot of skills and drills breakdowns. These drills were very intense as Coach Reggie demanded high energy and complete focus. This wraps up my week. I hope you enjoyed! Stay tuned for what I have in stored for my next week’s entry!

Until next time folks!! Trey Patterson signing off!!!
