Jr. Hoophall Classic: 14U Top Performers Day 2

Jahyde Gardiner Played Huge In Massachusetts!

On Day Two of the Jr. Hoophall Classic we got a chance to check a couple semifinal games. First we will take a look at 14U Division and its Top Performers.

14U Top Performers Day 2

Jahyde Gardiner Forward (Philly Aztecs)- Gardiner capped off a huge weekend by leading his squad to the finals. The wiry forward plays the post or the wing and has developed his ball handling. On defense his wing span allows him to swat shots away continuously. He shined bright this weekend!

Sam Foreman Guard (Philly Aztecs)- The powerful guard did damage during the semifinals. He tallied 15 points while finishing off tough plays at the cup. His handle is not flashy but efficient and his strength allows him to absorb contact before scoring.

Jarred Reuter Forward (NE Playaz)- Reuter’s play inside helped send Team Scan home. Today I got a chance to see more of his game. He showed a few more low post moves and the ability to stretch out for buckets. On defense he totally shut down the middle and made things very difficult for TS. He’s probably the most dominant 8th Grader in the region.

Idris Taggee Guard (NE Playaz)- While Reuter controlled the middle Taggee drained shots from the perimeter. His has a sweet stroke and can hit the jumper off the dribble. In transition he ran the like deer and finished off plays.

Johnnie Vasser Guard (NE Playaz)- Vasser played under control in this one. He beat defenders to the basket and either scored or dished the rock. On defense was pressured the rock and even took a few charges.

Naim Thomas Guard (Team Scan)- Thomas played major minutes but when watching him push the rock you can see that he’s really still not 100% back from his tail bone injury. He should be back to himself after a few more games under his belt.

Dustin Cole Guard (Maine Nation)- Cole ran the show for the team from up top. In the semifinals he torched the net for 5 treys and showed good poise at the quarterback position. Once he gets a stronger you might be looking at a good prospect.

Kody Lynn Guard (Maine Nation)- Lynn is tough as nails and will stick the mid range or trey ball. His strength allows him to hold off strong defenders. He should be a name to know Maine. He teams with Cole to form a good looking backcourt.
