Rutgers Prep Snags Smith

One of the top 8th Grade basketball players in New Jersey has selected his high school. Greg Smith, II, a Readington Township resident has chosen to attend Rutgers Prep School next fall. Greg was the first player in Readington Middle School’s history to play on the varsity team as a 6th grader, played for 3 years, and is currently the school’s all time assist and scoring leader accumulating 923 points. He is an honor student who has won numerous achievement awards, and has been internationally recognized for his community service in several countries through his AAU Basketball Team, The Radiant SUNS.

“We are extremely pleased that Greg is coming to our team and the Rutgers Prep team family”, stated Coach Ortelli. “Greg is focused, works hard, is a good player, and a very good person. We are glad to have him” says Ortelli.

Greg considered several high schools including Seton Hall Prep (his Father’s Alma Mater), Immaculata, St. Anthony, The Pennington School, St. Patrick, and The HUN School. We would like to congratulate Greg and his family on their decision. We will keep you posted as his high school career develops
