Jack Laffy Was A Problem On The Blocks

The 11 and Under Division had some exciting games and some big time players. Here’s a look at some of the top players in this age bracket that were not mentioned in the championship article.

11U Top Performers

Jack Laffy Forward (Bayshore Bulldogs)- Laffy was a load on the blocks and did much damage throughout the tourney. His has soft hands, good touch and outstanding post moves for a kid this age. Laffy was a thorn in the side for all the squads he encountered. Jack even showed some long range touch from the perimeter.

Jack Byrnes Forward (Bayshore Bulldogs)- Byrnes was Mr. Versatile once again. He hit the boards, blocked some shots and got into the scoring column. He does a lot of different things for this squad and plays with enormous passion.

Brendan Barry Guard (Bayshore Bulldogs)- Barry handles the point duties for BYAA and made some clutch plays to help his team to knock off CJ Future Stars. He nailed a big trey that gave his squad the lead just when it looked like the game was over.

Miles Powell Guard (CJ Future Stars)- Powell is a little off from behind the arc but did manage to bang home a trey to send the game into overtime. Miles looked good going to the cup and scoring. He has a lot of bounce in his game and knows how to create his own shot.

Justin Kovacevich Forward (CJ Future Stars)- Justin made some good plays when he got the opportunity. He scored inside and out while being willing to stick his head for a rebound or two.

Herbie Ellis Guard (Team MVP)- Ellis made some big shots and was hot from the outside against Linden Ballers. He attacked the basket well and knows how to maneuver his shot around defenders. He can score in bunches.

Jason Peoples Guard (Linden Ballers)- Peoples caught fire against Team MVP from behind the arc. He’s a rhythm shooter that can catch a shoot from long range. He also gets after ball handlers on defense.

Kyle Phipps Guard (Linden Ballers)- Phipps continues to get better every time I watch him rock. He getting better running the team and his confidence has his game playing on another level.
