FOUR SPOTLIGHT ALUMS DEBUT IN ESPN TOP 25 (CLASS OF 2023)



ESPN dropped their first recruiting ranking for the Class of 2023 and Basketball Spotlight was well represented. Here are the four players that cracked the Top 25 rising sophomores in America. 

Basketball Spotlight Alums In ESPN Top 25 (Class of 2023) 

DJ Wagner: Wagner tops the list #1 and is looked at as the next great guard to come Camden, NJ. Wagner starred at Basketball Spotlight with Team Final and was a considered a prodigy since baby baller age. 

Simeon Wilcher: Wilcher checked at #8 on the ESPN list after showing promise as a frosh at Roselle Catholic. The smooth two guard toured the Spotlight Circuit with PSA Cardinals and should be a dominant player the next three years at the North Jersey powerhouse. 

Akil Watson: Watson was well deserving of his slot at #11 as he was counted on a lot his frosh year at Don Bosco Prep. The wiry wing put NY Dragons and ECE on the map during his Spotlight years. He’s one of the top prospects in thee Garden State for years to come. 

Mackenzie Mgbako: Mackenzie hit the list at #19 after a stellar frosh season at Gil Saint Bernards. The fluid who starred in the Spotlight with Sports U, Riverside Hawks and New Heights among others. He should thrive the next few years in Mergin Sina’s high scoring offense.
