Diary Of A Baller: Tyus "Kid Mamba" Battle (Edison, NJ) Entry #18

Sunday-I slept in late because of the late night before. I sleep a lot these days for some reason. There is no place in the world that is too noisy for me to catch a nap. The beginning of the day at home was relaxing and slow, which was good for a change. Before I we went to the gym, my dad cooked breakfast for the entire family and I worked on this diary for Sunday night delivery to Mr. Melton. Late in the afternoon, the day started to pick up when my brother dad and I went back to the gym at Green Street in Woodbridge. We spent many hours in that gym over years. My old Team Battle friends and I had a lot of fun times there and my dad and I had some great workouts. Thanks Mr. Pete for the gym time! Our workout yesterday only lasted about 45 minutes to an hour because we were s going to see a couple high school games afterwards. During that time I really didn’t get up a lot of jump shots, but I did spend a lot of time on my handle, moves to the basket, and my runner and floater. As soon as we got on the road to the game the temperature dropped and it began to poor down raining. It was a about an hour ride up to Hackensack High School. We got there a little late and only caught the last minute of the St. Patrick’s and Teaneck game. Teaneck managed to get the win but I heard that it was a close game throughout. The next game was Plainfield and Hudson Catholic. I really came to watch my teammate from the Demons Justin Sears; Plainfield’s Yale bound wing forward play. I would like to congratulate Justin for making his decision on going to Yale University. Plainfield won the game by two points to beat Hudson Catholic. The last game was St. Benedicts against St. Anthony’s, which St. Anthony’s won by just one point. When I saw these two teams play it was a little different than the other teams that I watched. The teams played very rugged and the refs let them go. Overall I really enjoyed all the games I watched Sunday and how the teams really went at each other. It also shows me what I will be walking into in a few months.

My New Year’s resolution is to finally get baptized. I asked my dad if I was baptized and he said no, so my brother and I both want to get baptized in 2012.

This is Tyus Battle signing out
Peace!
